After much prayer and consideration, the Saratoga elders have decided to suspend live Sunday services at our church for the month of March.
This was not an easy decision, but in light of the new cases of COVID-19 that have surfaced in our region and the nature of how the virus is known to spread, we are taking steps that align with the latest CDC guidelines and strategies (as of this posting) to protect those over 60, those with pre-existing health conditions, and to practice social distancing wherever it’s possible and appropriate.
Please assume at this point that any church calendar events (Poiema Dines, baptism class, etc.) are suspended, unless otherwise notified by one of the pastors.
For the remaining Sundays in March we will be creating and distributing videos for you to watch at home. They will be available to view on our YouTube channel around 9am on Sunday mornings and will include music for worship, a short devotional, and any announcements and updates we have for you. (You can subscribe to our YouTube channel HERE, and each Sunday’s link will be available through social media and email.)
We are working with our Tribe leaders to consider how we might still gather in the coming weeks. However, for this coming week (3/15-3/21), no Tribes will meet in order to give us time to think carefully about upcoming gatherings and what that’s going to look like.
For most of us, a situation like this is unprecedented. It is both an opportunity for us to explore Christian community / mission differently, and an opportunity for us to trust God, who is sovereign over all. We will be in touch regularly with you, our church family, and ask for your prayers and patience as we continue to explore how we do life together under these unique circumstances.
