Terra Nova, Saratoga

History & Vision

See What the Lord Has Done

Our Beginning

Terra Nova, Saratoga was first planted in 2012 as an extension location of Terra Nova Church in Troy, NY. Terra Nova Troy was continuing to experience growth since its beginnings in 2006, with many in its church body commuting from the Saratoga Springs area. As part of the Acts 29 Network, Terra Nova has a vision to plant churches that plant churches. With that mission in mind and after much prayer and deliberation — Terra Nova Troy planted a new location in Saratoga to answer the community’s need and God’s call for the expansion of His kingdom through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In 2013, Terra Nova Saratoga began hosting services Sunday nights in the First Baptist Church in downtown Saratoga Springs. The Pastors of Terra Nova, taught, led and oversaw both congregations with Pastor Daniel Williams serving as the Saratoga Location Pastor.

Independent and Interdependent

As the church in Saratoga grew, the Elders of Terra Nova began to pray about launching Terra Nova Saratoga as an autonomous church within the newly forming network of Terra Nova churches. In 2016, Pastor Scott Fischer came on staff with Terra Nova Saratoga as Lead Pastor to work alongside Pastor Daniel Williams to re-plant Terra Nova Saratoga as an independent church, yet still a part of the Terra Nova Network. In 2018, Daniel answered a call from the Lord to step into the Lead Pastor role.  Within this network, or family of interdependent churches, Terra Nova Saratoga works to serve, share with, and send out other Terra Nova churches. We believe his will help realize our vision of seeing many more churches planted throughout the Northeast.
