State of the Church | 2021 Giving Updates

On Sunday, August 29, Pastor Daniel shared information about different ways in which our church has supported and been involved in churches and ministries throughout our region, our local community, and our international partners. You can find more detailed information about each of these below. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our pastors. Please be in prayer about ways in which you can become involved, and ways in which you can give in the coming year, as we seek to increase our giving to others.

Renovation Church, Syracuse, NY

In 2021, the Terra Nova network donated $8k to Covenant Church, a church plant out of Renovation Church in Syracuse led by Pastor Mike Mayzee. Find out more about this church on their website here.

New England Church Plant, Henniker, NH.

In 2021, the Terra Network donated $16k to a rural New England church plant in Henniker, NH. The funds went to supporting site pastor Eliot DeLorme. Eliot is currently completing the Acts 29 church planting assessment and receiving coaching and mentorship through the Village Green Collective. The funds he received helped Eliot transition from his former full-time job, moving his family to Henniker and beginning the fundraising and church planting process. Eliot and members of his core team will be leading a Sunday Worship gathering and sharing more of their story at Terra Nova North Adams this January.

Terra Nova Church North Adams and the Village Green Collective, North Adams, MA

Our third Terra Nova Church, Terra North Adams, received a one time gift of $6k as well as an ongoing monthly donation of $4,500 to support Pastor Paul Gordon and his church plant in North Adams. In addition to pastoring in North Adams, Paul Gordon is also a founding pastor of The Village Green Collective. The Village Green Collective is a group of small-town New England churches that are working together to plant more small-town New England churches. This group now includes: 2 churches in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. These churches are focused on pooling resources, mentorship, coaching, training, and care for planters in small-town New England. Their first church plant is planned for the fall of 2022 in Henniker, NH. Terra Nova’s support of the VGC in 2021 was to help get this Collective organized and launched. VGC plans to fully launch in January 2022.

Engage Albany, Albany, NY

Each month, the Terra Network has given $1,000 to a church plant in Albany, NY, Engage Albany and its pastor, Sean Nolan. You can find more about Sean’s church here. Sean’s work has been fruitful for the Kingdom. This year, Engage Albany has brought on a worship director Dave Brown, has baptized a number of folks, started 3 small groups, and has found a place to meet in the West Hill community of downtown Albany. They are working to increase membership and are preparing for a men’s retreat this fall.

Maranatha Faith Temple, Amaravathi, India

Terra has had a desire to give to churches outside of North America. We recently gave $5k to Pastor Siri Anne in Amaravathi, India to help plant  Maranatha Faith Temple. When Siri heard God speak to him, “Your life is mine” he sold all his property to start and plant a church.  Since it isn’t technically legal to plant churches in India, he encountered much rejection in finding a location. His heart is to reach young people, business people, doctors and lawyers and bring the Gospel of Jesus into this region of India.  You can see Siri’s message to our church here.  Siri addresses Pastor Tory from our Terra Troy church, as Tory was our connection to this opportunity.

Axe21 Church, Quebec, Canada

In 2012, Terra Nova Church helped Canadian Pastor Marc Pilon launch Axe21 church in Quebec. This year, we gave $6k towards their first church plant in Magog, Quebec. You can see more about this church plant here.

YoungLives, Saratoga Springs, NY

Locally, Terra Saratoga has been supporting missionary Juli Bickley and her work with YoungLives, a ministry that works with teen moms and their babies. Juli has had a good YoungLives summer with some playground dates, pool parties, and continued a weekly Bible study time with the moms. This summer, four moms planned to go to YoungLife camp at Lake Champion! Summer camp is such an amazing time for the moms to get away, grow relationships and be able to talk about Jesus! This group has grown and please be praying for its continued growth.  Please find out more about this ministry here and here.

Next Steps Crisis Pregnancy Center, Queensbury, NY

In late 2020, we were made aware of a new crisis pregnancy center called NextSteps starting in Queensbury. Terra Saratoga has rallied around this ministry with financial and practical needs. Our church donated $5,164 to this mission and currently, members of our church are helping with bookkeeping. Please pray about how you might be involved in this ministry! You can read their thank you note here.

Oaks and Crown, NH and Kenya, Africa

Many of you know Syke Herrick, who was involved at Terra Saratoga and in the last year has moved to New Hampshire to start a ministry called Oaks and Crown. Oaks and Crown is a ministry that seeks to empower and train up Godly leaders in Kenya, Africa. If you’d like to hear Skye’s vision and heart for this ministry, watch the video HERE.
