With winter here, we want to once again share how Terra Nova approaches weather that may impact our Sunday morning gatherings.
In general, weather-related service cancellations will only occur if conditions are very poor in Troy. While many in our church family travel from a wide range of distances—and weather conditions can vary greatly during a storm—our decision is based on the forecast and conditions in Troy itself.
Any decision to cancel a Sunday morning service will be made no later than 6:30 AM, as some volunteers begin arriving between 7:00–7:30 AM.
If we do need to cancel Sunday morning services, we will communicate that decision through the following channels:
1. The Terra Nova App – This will always be the first place to check. You’ll receive a push notification, so please make sure notifications are turned ON for the app in your phone settings.
(If you don’t yet have the app, download it here for the App Store or here for Google Play.)
2. Social Media – Cancellation information will also be posted on Terra Nova Troy’s Facebook and Instagram pages. If you haven’t liked us on Facebook, you can do so here.
Please note: Due to the unpredictability of weather, there may be times when a “bad call” is made—whether canceling when we didn’t need to, or not canceling when we probably should have. These decisions are made with care, prayer, and the safety of our church family in mind. Leadership does not take the cancellation of church—or the safety of our congregants—lightly.
Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe out there, Terra.
