Nat is a lay elder at Terra Nova Church, which means he has a day job outside the church as an engineer. Nat grew up in Pennsylvania, having known Jesus since his early years. Nat was shaped by early experiences in a very small home church, by his family who knew and loved Jesus, and by deeply meaningful times serving at some Christian camps over the summers as a teenager.
Nat moved into this area in the year 2000 for his first engineering job after graduating from Penn State University. Twenty-five years later, he’s still doing mechanical engineering, which fulfills his need to think about how and why things work. Nat finds much enjoyment in learning a few musical instruments, trying to write songs, and doing some sketching and painting when he can.
Having been involved with Terra Nova from its beginning as a brand new church planted in Troy, Nat has found a close church family here. He’s been part of this church family through many events in his life: marrying Jen, becoming a father to Lila and Jackson, and growing older. Nat’s early adult life was influenced by some loss and struggle, which drove him to cling tightly to God and find day by day renewal and joy in the Word. Nat found ways to serve the church and help others through God’s grace, and in 2021, found himself called to serve as one of the elders.
