Every Sunday morning we welcome a group of fellow pilgrims to Terra Nova Church. Our Sunday gathering offers Life, Place & Meaning through, and because of the Gospel of Christ Jesus. Our hope is that this blog is an extension of who and what Terra Nova Church is. While we would never want for this blog to replace authentic gathered community, we welcome you here to what we hope is a weekly dose of what we believe and try to live out.
At a recent meeting to plan this very blog, the question was posed, “Why are we doing this?”
Because it’s expected? To keep up with the Joneses? Because it’s the hip, tech-savvy thing to do?
No.
This blog’s primary purpose mirrors the goal of Terra Nova Church at large; to reveal Christ, to make Him known, and to make more and better disciples of Jesus.
Our new blog will be an ongoing communication tool to do three things:
Wherever you may be in your individual pilgrim journey, we hope that Terra Nova’s blog content will be a resource for solid Biblically-based guidance and knowledge to enhance your walk toward Christ.
The Church must engage culture as a common medium to make its message known. Reviews of books, movies and a Christian take on society are to be expected.
As we have invited outside voices from the “Capital ‘C’ Church” to speak to us from the pulpit, retreat or via video, we will present voices of pastors, missionaries, and church leaders from the area, country, and around the world
All of this will be in the form of a weekly blog post. Terra Nova Network’s Senior Pastor, Ed Marcelle will be our primary voice. As the founding church planter for our family of churches, Ed’s heart and soul continues to provide the primary vision and language for the Terra Nova Network. Blog content will also include the voices of Terra Nova leaders, church planters, local church pastors, modern-day theologians, and various partners in the furthering of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Terra Nova blog is intended to Inform, Engage & Expand by tackling a wide scope of topics that speak to us in our lives as Mystics who are seeking ever to know more of the Eternal God, Pilgrims on a journey together as the church, and Missionaries who are called by God to engage our culture.
Topics will include:
Theology & the Gospel
Contemplation
Spiritual Life
Church Life & Discipleship
Pastoral & Practical Ministry
Soul Care & Renewal
Cultural IQ
Church Planting
Missionary Exposure
Aside from subscribing, an easy way to access the blog is to “Like” the Terra Nova Network on Facebook and/or follow on Twitter. This will put a link to the blog in your regular feeds to notify you of new posts every week. Further, feel free to email any comments or questions.
